Our story

Special Hospital for Ophthalmology ``Dr. Kozomara``

The Special Hospital for Ophthalmology “Dr. Kozomara” is a continuation of a family tradition that began in 2008 as the “Kozomara Clinic.”

From then until today, we have continuously worked on improving our services and ensuring the latest technologies and methods in the treatment of eye diseases. Precisely for these reasons, the Kozomara Clinic became the “Clinic Svjetlost” in Banja Luka in 2011. Our decades-long cooperation with the “Svjetlost” Clinic from Zagreb has enabled us to grow, learn, and develop with the unselfish help of colleagues who have shared their knowledge and experiences with us daily.

Today, as we “return to our roots,” we want to continue on the path we have taken over the past 15 years as the Special Hospital for Ophthalmology “Dr. Kozomara.

Our team consists of experts with many years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of eye diseases. We would like to highlight the most common ones, such as cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and so on.

However, we are most recognized for procedures in refractive surgery and cosmetic eyelid surgeries. In our institution, the first laser vision correction surgery in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina was performed back in 2008. Additionally, we have performed a large number of near-vision correction surgeries by implanting multifocal intraocular lenses, as well as cosmetic eyelid surgeries.

We understand that each case is unique, and therefore, we approach each of you individually. In collaboration with you and your families, we develop a personalized treatment plan to achieve the best possible results.
