U roku od samo dvije sekunde Pentacam® HR pruža precizne dijagnostičke podatke o cijelom
prednjem očnom segmentu. Mjerenje prednje i zadnje površine rožnjače daje ukupnu refrakcionu jačinu kao i debljinu rožnjače na cijeloj njenoj površini.
Ovi podaci od izuzetne su važnosti za pacijente koji žele laserski korigovati svoju dioptriju, jer je debljina rožnjače jedan od osnovnih parametara koje moramo uzeti u obzir. Nadalje, podaci na zadnjoj površini rožnjače pružaju optimalnu pomoć u ranom otkrivanju ektatičkih promjena, posebno keratokonusa.
Najvažnije je i to što sam aparat na osnovnu dobijenih podataka može sam odrediti stadijum keratokonusa, što umnogome pomaže kod određivanja daljeg toka liječenja.
Rezolucija slike kod Pentacam® HR pet je puta veća od one kod prijašnjih Pentacam® modela,
što omogućava impresivne prikaze položaja intraokularnog sočiva i fakičnog intraokularnog
sočiva u oku. Ovi podaci nekada mogu biti izuzetno korisni u praćenju pacijenata nakon operacije katarakte, korekcije dioptrije za čitanje, ili korekcije visokih minus dioptrija koje se
nisu mogle korigovati laserom.
