Kao i kod gornjih kapaka, tako se i kod donjih može uraditi operacija blefaroplastike.
Istina, određene razlike postoje, prije svega u činjenici da se kod gornje blefaroplastike odstranjuje višak kože, a kod donje prvenstveno masne „kesice“ ispod oka.
Donedavno se donja blefaroplastika hirurški radila i zbog uklanjanja viška kože, ali se zbog čestih komplikacija, nastanka ožiljka, te napretka tehnologije, sve više odustaje od ove tradicionalne hirurške metode.
Transkonjunktivalna blefaroplastika je riješila mnoge probleme estetske operacije donjih kapaka, a u isto vrijeme omogućila željeni postoperativni efekat.
Način izvođenja
Osnovna razlika ovog zahvata u odnosu na transkutanu blefaroplastiku donjih kapaka je taj što se rez radi na unutrašnjoj strani kapka, to jest na dijelu kapka koji je naslonjen na oko. Kroz taj rez pristupa se masnom tkivu ispod oka koje se uklanja i zahvaljujući čemu područje ispod oka poslije operacije dobija novi, podmlađeni izgled.
Bešavna operacija
Međutim, najveća prednost ove tehnike je ta što se rez ne šije, odnosno rana zarasta sama za 2-3 dana. Bešavnost zahvata omogućava pacijentu i lakši i brži postoperativni oporavak, jer nema žuljanja konca, niti njegovog skidanja.
Najveća prednost je nepostojanje vanjskog reza na koži donjeg kapka, što sprečava nastanak vidljivog ožiljka, ali i eliminiše mogućnost za postoperativnu komplikaciju u vidu ektropijuma, tačnije izvrtanja donjeg kapka prema vani.
Kao i kod gornje blefaroplastike, tako je i kod donje od presudne važnosti da se obave detaljne predoperativne konsultacije i da se pacijent informiše o svim opcijama koje su dostupne.
