Kako je ljudsko tijelo asimetrično, u svim estetskim operacijama, uz poboljšanje estetskog izgleda dijela tijela koje se operiše, pokušava se postići i maksimalna simetrija.
Simetrija gornjih kapaka je možda i najvažnija simetrija na našem licu, posebno zbog toga što oči, pa samim ti i kapke, ne možete tako lako sakriti.
Hirurško izjednačavanje kapaka
Za vrijeme blefaroplastike gornjih kapaka, u toku predoperativne pripreme, procjenjuje se da li na jednom od kapaka postoji veći višak kože u odnosu na drugi. I često postoji, opet zbog asimetrije našeg tijela.
Izjednačavanje visine kapaka počinje sa obilježavanjem „baze“ reza, odnosno obilježavanjem visine reza u odnosnu na rub gornjeg kapka. Anatomski, žene imaju nešto višu „krestu“ gornjeg kapka, i ona je najčešće 8-9 mm od ruba. Kod muškaraca je nešto niža, te iznosi 6-8 mm.
Ključno je da baza reza bude na istom mjestu na oba gornja kapka. Nakon toga se obilježava višak kože koji će se ukloniti, a isti na jednom kapku može da bude nešto malo veći ili malo manji u odnosu na drugi.
Važnost izjednačavanja kapaka
Jedan od najčešćih razloga postoperativnog nezadovoljstva pacijenata je osjećaj da je jedan kapak „podignutiji“ od drugom, odnosno da je drugi spušteniji. Zato je od presudne važnosti da se predoperativno na adekvatan način odredi tačna visina baze reza, te višak kože koji će se uklanjati.
